Because these spices are so pungent, they can often be used to flavor more than one batch. YIELD: A one-ounce package contains enough for one gallon or 16 eight-ounce servings. The three and one-half ounce package contains enough for 64 eight-ounce servings. DIRECTIONS: Pour a gallon of beverage into a large saucepan or kettle. Gather up 1 oz of mulling spices, including one crushed cinnamon stick, in a square of cheesecloth and secure with string. Add to the beverage. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat. Simmer for 15 to 20 minutes. Remove the spices. Pour the mulled beverage into heated mugs. Garnish with an orange slice. Hot Mulled Cider

INGREDIENTS
1 gallon apple cider*
1 one-ounce packet of INDIA TREE Mulling Spices

Optional

1 INDIA TREE 6-Inch Cinnamon Quill for stirring
1 orange slice per serving

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Pour cider into a large saucepan or kettle.
  2. Use a mallet or hammer to crush one cinnamon stick into several pieces.
  3. Gather cinnamon and other spices up in a square of cheesecloth and secure with string. Or contain them with a bouquet garni sachet or a metal tea leaf holder.
  4. Heat cider and bring to a boil. Add the spices.
  5. Reduce heat and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes.
  6. Remove spices.
  7. Pour cider into heated mugs and garnish with a fresh orange slice.
  8. Stir with a cinnamon stick or 6 inch quill.
